Terrazzo Flooring FAQ

What is terrazzo flooring?

Terrazzo flooring is a composite surface made by embedding marble, glass or stone chips in a cement or epoxy binder, then grinding and polishing it to a smooth, seamless finish. It can be poured on-site in any colour and aggregate combination.

How long does terrazzo flooring last?

Properly installed and maintained, terrazzo can last the life of the building — often 40 years or more. It is one of the most durable flooring surfaces available, which is why it is common in airports, schools and institutions.

Is terrazzo flooring worth the cost?

Terrazzo has a higher upfront cost than many floors, but its lifespan, low maintenance and fully custom design make it very cost-effective over time. We provide a fixed quote after design and sampling.

Can terrazzo be installed over an existing floor?

In many cases yes — our poured terrazzo is thin-set, so with proper preparation it can go over a sound existing slab without a full tear-out. We assess the substrate during the site visit.
